Captured Chaos

Ha! For a Christmas gift I thought it would be great to take a great photo of the grandkids for my in-laws. His mom loves all things old so I was aiming for a very antique looking photo that included all the 8 grandkids. I knew going in that it wouldn't be calm. Getting everyone facing the right direction, in focus and looking decent would be a trick. I figured if I took enough shots there would be one worth using. However, just getting them all in the same area at the same time proved to be the hardest. I ended up holding the release down and continuously shooting for 1/2 hour filling 4 memory cards. What I find hysterical is that looking back there were only a tiny handful that acutally contained all the kids and they were all far from perfect. Almost every other photo had one escaping or missing. The youngest boy chose to scream the entire time and my big girls Abbi and Izze worked their hearts out trying to keep them all on their laps. The oldest boy, Preston was fed up within seconds and the others three, Ryder, Quintin, Connor and Charlotte were just flat out entertaining. In the end us parents had some good laughs and were exhausted. I settled on everyone just being in the photo as a final result. I was bummed at first because I had a very different final product in mind. However, these photo's represent every single TRUE CHARACTER in the bunch! For that I wouldn't change a thing in any of the hundreds I captured that day! Every smile, every handful of hair and every tear was genuine!
